Interview
"I have had interviews in the past but somewhat disappointed by the questions asked of me during the interview so I decided to interview myself to better clarify who I am and my art". John Jakimas
John Jakimas is an artist who claims to have discovered an algorithmic process that can manifest new images from other images by using a unique algorithmic process.
(Q) - How did you first discover this algorithmic process?
(A) First, I would like to say that I have been a painter all my life, not a digital artist, and knew very little about computers or computer science. I discovered an algorithmic process back in 2013 when I began exploring one of my paintings in a digital way. I was shocked to find that the digital algorithm I was using began to reveal new and totally different images from the original. I refer to these new images as manifestations. I did not invent the algorithm. I am only revealing what this algorithm can manifest. There is much more to this story that I will explain later.
(Q) How do these images manifest? Do they just appear spontaneously while you are working with the algorithm?
(A) No, the algorithm allows me to explore images gradually, step by step in stages until other images begin to appear. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to as long as a few days. What will manifest is totally unpredictable.
(Q) How do you select the images you explore. Are some images better to explore then others?
(A) Great question! There is no set criteria to the images I choose to explore. I usually select images that I find personally interesting or that pull me in on an intuitive level. This may include visually complex images with a lot of detail but the truth is any image, even the most mundane of images, can manifest a "unique" and new image. I may explore my own photos as well as copyright free images. Since 2013 I have explored a wide variety of images, everything you can imagine from wallpaper designs to classic works of art, thousands of images since 2013. I may also paint an image I feel impelled to do.
(Q) Your images seem to connect to the supernatural or tap into that realm. Is this accurate?
(A) Very often image manifestations appear to tap into supernatural, metaphysical areas especially areas that pertain to the unknown within our universe. Why this is I am not sure but I believe molecules of light are quite malleable and when you manipulate "frozen" molecules of light, (such as in a photo), within a closed mathematical, algorithmic system, interesting images can manifest.
Note: There is also an important alien contact aspect to all this that I will discuss later.
(Q) Can these image manifestations be re explored and rediscovered using this algorithmic process?
(A) Yes! This is how I can prove that I do not create these image manifestations. I discover them in away very similar to how a photographer discovers images. If I could film this image manifestation process people would better understand how this algorithmic process works. In reality is not purely an algorithmic process as it also takes some artistic ability and intuition to fully realize and bring to full fruition the best aspects of the manifestation discovery.
Not to sound braggadocios but as far as I know I am the only person on this planet exploring an algorithmic process to manifest images.
((Occasionally I may edit some comments for better clarification).

(Q) You made this discovery back in 2013 so how many images would you now say you have manifested to date?
(A) I have approximately 500 + images in my digital, portfolio art file. I am not sure just how many images from this file I would exhibit. at this time. It would be many but I have no exact number.
(Q) Have you ever exhibited these manifestations?
(A) I was once part of an artists collective, "Vibe Gallery" where I did exhibit a few manifestations. I would love to find the right venue to exhibit more of these manifestations. Hopefully this will happen before ageing limits my travel.
To be continued.
